Environmental Impact Weekends

Environmental Impact Events are a great way to get to know  the SACYA team and the programs that we have availabele to you and your family!

The events are tailored to the specific needs of the youth involved and include:

• one on one time throughout the weekend
• group time
• events such as horseback riding and camping (subject to change based on season and availability)
• Christian content
• introduction to Bible studies
• and much more!

 

Events are open to adolescents aged 11-16. The maximum group size is 9, and 3 to 4 adults attend, making the SACYA Environmental Impact Event an excellent and safe place for the children attending.    Some of the events held throughout the weekend are not open to parents.  This is done to facilitate a safe place for the kids to talk openly about what they see happening in the home and with themselves and not have to worry about sensoring the content of their comments because Mom and Dad are listening.

Adolescents can expect to come away from a SACYA Environmental Impact Event with some clear and definite tools to manage their own lives, and manage them within their personal community, family, school, environment, etc.

 

SACYA will also offer these impact weekends to adults who wish to have a chance to "get away" from the pressures of life in general and would like to take an opportunity to gather together with other parents who may be struggling with issues that arise to do dealing with children who have conduct and behavirol issues and how that impacts them personally as well as the rest of their families.  

Simply contact SACYA and inquire to the availability of group programs for adults, and we will be happy to let you know the next weekend that is planned for adults.  There must be at least six adults signed for us to run a weekend program.  These weekends will allow you to understand your child and the relationship that you currently have with them and what needs to happen to make these relationships stronger and more productive for you the parents, and for your children.

Come along and find out what you can do to make the differences in your relationships and family.  Come out and have some fun and a great time in the back country of Southern Alberta as you ride away from your struggles and gain some real knowledge to aid you  when you do return home.
