SACYA provides short term respite for families experiencing serious issues with their adolescent child and who need a break (maximum 5 days) so that calm can be restored. During the respite, the child will stay in a SACYA home, and will benefit from the psychotherapeutic resources available through SACYA. SACYA will also make these resources available to the family where possible.
From time to time, short term respite is used by families who have had a youth in a previous long term residential program and who is experiencing a brief lapse or breakdown.
SACYA’s Short Term Respite program is available only to prequalified families. To inquire about being added to the list of prequalified respite families, please contact us.
